- In your own words, tell us about your wedding. What was your theme or inspiration? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story? Our wedding was fully planned many, many months before we learned about COVID-19. We picked our specific date of 6/10/2020 because after our wedding we were going to be making a big move in Minneapolis, MN. Our wedding was going to be bright and nautical! When we learned about COVID, all of our plans had immediately changed. We went from a whole recipe to one key ingredient- LOVE. We made the decision that moving was just not in the books this year and our big(ish) was still super uncertain. As time went on we made a decision to cancel our big reception. We still wanted to get married because we just couldn't wait any longer. We informed our friends and family that our “normal” wedding was cancelled but we were going to continue on with a small “COVID” ceremony and if anyone felt comfortable coming, we’d love seeing them! Our guests had to wear masks and practice social distancing as much as possible. Our wedding was not how we planned but we couldn't be more thankful for what it was. We are married, we have beautiful pictures and hopefully one day we will plan a big celebration with all of our loved ones! I have learned from this whole experience that it’s completely okay for things to not go as planned. We got married during a global pandemic.
- What was your favorite part about shopping for your bridal gown with us? I went to a few stores before I found TWC. I didn’t have the right feeling at any of the other shops i visited. When I went to TWC I immediately had a great feeling! Allison was my consultant and really listened to what I was looking for in a wedding dress. She is a kind, bright and beautiful person! She really knows what she’s doing and knows how to match a dress to a bride! The store is so bright and welcoming, it really eased my anxiety. There are so many things I love about TWC and if I would recommend a dress shop, it’s TWC!
- Describe your bridal style. How did you want to look on your wedding day? My bridal style was definitely a mix of traditional and fun. I wanted to feel like the best version of me. It was important that I felt exactly like myself because we will look back at our photos and I want to see my most authentic self!
- What was your favorite memory from your wedding day? My favorite memory from my wedding day (other than saying "I do” of course) was our beach pictures and boat ride. It was the one thing that was from our original wedding plans!
